Kubu is the Anti-Villian of Scar's Reign and leader of the Hyena Rebels. The father of Amiri, Haki, Dhalila, and rival of Shenzi's trio.

Appearance

Kubu is a bulky Hyena with a wild Mohawk-like mane, spiky ears, a crazy smile and large fangs. Unlike most of the hyenas, he is not soot gray, but tinted brown-ish red.

Personality

Kubu is defiant, impulsive, opinionated and quick to anger but smart and knows how to strategize. Even as he dies, he insults Scar and threatens his pride.

He can be seen briefly in the song Be Prepared.

In Scar's Reign

He refused to serve under Scar and gathered those with similar thoughts under his rule to kill Scar, Shenzi and anyone who dared oppose his takeover. He bore five pups: Amiri, an older Hyena that could actively work beside him and two younger pups, Dhalili and Haki, who stayed at pride rock with their mother to avoid arousing suspicion.

On the day they are supposed to attack, Kubu catch cubs Tama and Mheetu snooping around, or rather, their scent. He orders his followers to pursue, catch and kill the cubs and Amiri, his older son, to secure Haki, Dhalila and Imara at the Elephant graveyards.
