Treacherous Trek is a computer game inspired by The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa. It was available to play on the now-defunct Toon Disney website from 2003 to 2009.
Information[]
Plot[]
Timon/Pumbaa has followed a tasty grub too far from the Pride Lands, and must travel through five different landscapes in order to get back home and reunite with one another.
Gameplay[]
The object of the game is to guide Timon or Pumbaa back to the Pride Lands by passing through five different landscapes. The player has to use the keyboard arrow keys to guide one of the duo through the maze. Each time they get to the top of the screen, they can earn extra points by collecting a type of grub as a special item: a blue grub for 100 points and a yellow grub for 500 points.
Along the way, the player can look for friendly animals and moving objects for a safe ride, but also has to be careful as not all animals are willing to help out. The player also has to watch out for obstacles that block their path, as they will only slow them down, causing them to lose a life.
The game consists of five levels, each consisting of five parts. Level 1 has Timon or Pumbaa pass through the desert, Level 2 being the the jungle, Level 3 being the gorge, Level 4 being volcanic pits, and Level 5 being the Elephant Graveyard. The player has one minute to pass through each level, otherwise they lose a life when time runs out. If the player loses all five lives, the game is over.
