I'm taking from your edit to the "King of Pride Rock" page that you've purchased the Legacy Collection. I'm planning to order it sometime soon, but if you do have the album, are the scores mostly the same as the ones we have listed now? I'm just wondering if we can just rename the pages or if they're arranged differently.
I do have it, yes. The arrangements for almost all of the tracks is remarkedly different, especially for "Stampede" and "The Rightful King" (the former uses real brass - the sessions used the demo brass, and the latter uses real choir which actually sings in Swahili as Simba rises to Pride Rock as opposed to the 'Ahh' the previous leak and the album has)
That's a tough question to answer in a single word. The material is thematically the same: we even get the insert for "We Are Connected" that the previous leaks don't have. The previous leaks are all material that was mixed from the original recording stems by Jay Rifkin, and I'm told Zimmer hated those mixes, so when it came to this release, he pulled the original master tapes and passed the mixing over to Alan Meyerson, who has been mixing Zimmer's scores for a long time now. The result is, for want of a better phrase, what Zimmer actually intended the score to sound like, whereas the Rifkin mixes are not, and TBH, now sound somewhat flat as a result. So, yes, the material is the same, the mix is not.
Huh, so I guess we can just make new pages and keep up the old ones. I'll be interested to see what they sound like. And by the insert for "We Are Connected," are you referring to the little flute solo when Simba enters the den?
Okay, last question. The track listing according to Amazon seems to have a few typos (such as "Prideland" and "We Gotta Bone to Pick You"). Is the actual track listing different from the Amazon-provided one?
