  • Hello, and welcome to the wiki! Thank you so much for your edits to the articles; you’ve really helped expand the personality sections! I just wanted to let you know that we only accept images in PNG format. I would suggest using an image converter, such as Pixlr.com or Paint. Thanks, and happy editing! :)

    • Sorry I am actually really much new to the whole editing and just learned how to add photos not too long ago so I am still learning. I have added personality sections for all of Vitani's team but before I add anything I wanted to see if others had any ideas before I wrote them down. I appreciate your edits as well. I am glad to help. Personally Vitani is my favorite lion king character so that is why I wanted to add more to her page

        Loading editor
    • No problem! I know the photos can be tricky.

Vitani is a great character. I liked how you included her personality in “Return to the Pride Lands”, as we hadn’t written it in yet. Feel free to add personality sections for the others. If I think of anything else, I’ll make sure to add it.

    • I just finished the personality for Kasi, but I don't think I did too well on this one, though I do think there are some good points on her personality I feel like I messed up. If you want to take a look at it and edit it a lot, be my guess. Thank you

    • You did a great job! Thanks so much for adding it. :)

    • Just to let you know I made a personality section for Tazama, Vitani's keenest of sight. Hope what I have is a good start and if you want to edit I would like to see your improvements to it. Thanks again for helping me with this

    • Hey Honeyfur, I know this may be an odd question but I wanted to know something. Since you are a lion king fan I want to know your opinion on Mufasa's plan from Simba's pride having Kovu and Kiara fall in love to unite the prides. I want to know your thoughts on mufasa having his granddaughter fall in love with Scar's heir. To me I always found it odd but intriguing that Mufasa wants to fulfill the dying wish of his brother and murderer, it's like he is honoring Scar despite what he did to him. I want to know your opinion on this. I have tried making posts on comments for this question but no one has ever responded, that is why I want to know your opinion on the subject.

        Loading editor
    • I always saw Mufasa's actions as being a way to unite the prides, not fulfill Scar's dying wish. Mufasa clearly did not blame Kovu for Zira's actions and encouraged Simba to welcome the Outsiders back into the Pride Lands. If anything, Kovu's change of heart proved that Scar's power and sway was inconsequential, as Kovu chose his own way in the end.

Also, if you want to post about a topic to the community, I would suggest looking at our forums. I can explain how to use them if you get confused. :)

    • Ok thank you very much I may just do that. But I do have one more thing I have always wanted ask you, if that is ok. In Return to the pride lands Vitani recognizes the Mark of Evil on Kion and clearly sees him as a threat. And since her guard moved into the lair for probably a while, and eventually became the real lion guard, do you think they found out the truth about Scar, the monster he really was, and a bonded all the respect they used to have. Just asking because when I watched Simba's pride I always saw it as the outsiders still believed in Scar but joined Simba as a way to stop the fighting. I always saw the union of the pride as an agreement but both sides still had their different opinions and philosophies. What do you think?

        Loading editor
    • That's an interesting point. It might be like how Kovu changed his mind about Scar after hearing Simba's side of the story. If I had to guess, Vitani recognizes that Scar and Zira were in the wrong, but still retains love for them (or at least Zira), much like Kovu does.

        Loading editor
    • I think so as well, still I find it ironic, had it not been for Kovu and Kiara falling in love, with Kiara becoming future queen and Kovu as future king. It was like Scar's dying wish was the only way to fix the circle of life and I agree that mufasa did this just to unite the prides but you do have to emit it sure is ironic.

I really like the second movie a lot more than the first, the first was good but the second I feel had a better plot and I really like the new characters and their development more than the original characters from movie 1

        Loading editor
    • It is pretty ironic! Zira enabled her own doom.

I like the sequel, but the first movie will always be my favorite. I do think the sequel did a good job with its characters and songs.

    • Ya she could not let go of her hate and in the end it destroyed her just like Scar.  Sorry to bother you with all these questions and stuff it is just I don't really know anyone who likes the lion king and knows a lot about its lore.

    • Thank you very much it feels good having someone to talk to about it. I will definitely look into the forums. Just curious though who is your favorite lion king character in the franchise.

        Loading editor
    • My favorite character is Scar. I love how charismatic, cunning, and sarcastic he is. Definitely my favorite Disney villain! What about you?

        Loading editor
    • My favorite in the franchise is Vitani but from the first film probably Scar too and for the same reasons too. I think the scar across his eye definitely made him look a lot more cool too

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, Scar is a classic. I enjoy Vitani as well. I wish she could have had a bigger role in the sequel, but alas.

        Loading editor
    • Same luckily the lion guard fixed that up. I really liked seeing her and her lion guard and how it not only explored what happened to her after Simba's Pride but also really improved her personality and made her even more interesting. Who would you say is your least favorite character?

        Loading editor
    • Personally I know some fans have complained about vitani being leader of the lion guard but I truly think that it was just perfect for this character

        Loading editor
    • Oh, wow, I’ve never actually thought about that! I don’t really like Timon. I’ve always found him irritating, and I don’t like how mean he is to poor Pumbaa. XD However, I did like him more in the 2019 film.

I think Vitani had a fitting end. I do wish Kion had stayed in the Pride Lands, though. I didn’t like how he left behind his family, kingdom, and role in the Lion Guard. Season 3 was overall pretty iffy with me.

    • Fair enough I can see your point. For me my least favorite character, and this is probably bad for a lion king character, but it is Simba. I never liked him. I hate him as a kid because he is just so bratty and egotistical and when he is adult he doesn't go to the pride lands because it is the right thing the only reason he goes is because his dad told him too. Plus I absolutely lost all respect for the character in the sequel because I just think he is a bad guy, egotistical by nature, and really much the only thing that seems to motivate him is making his dad proud. To me he is really just a daddy's boy and it really annoys me. Maybe that is a little harsh but that is just me

        Loading editor
    • Also I don't really like Timon either he is annoying and for the most part useless if you ask me

        Loading editor
    • I get that. I find adult Simba a bit boring. He’s much more dynamic, energetic, and youthful in the stage musical. Matthew Broderick was a poor choice for a voice actor, if you ask me. Makes Simba sound too old. XD

    • Ya I get that as well.

Wow. That's certainky harsh. But I can understand. I don't fully agree with you, but yeah, I do think that even as an adult, Simba still relies heavily on his father for guidance. It even took a talk from Nala for him to even think of starting to open up to Kovu. Simba acted like he knows his father the best, but no he's not, that goes for Rafiki. For someone who said he has put the past behind him when he confronted Scar in the first film, he sure is still clinging to it.

What made you like Timon in 2019 more? I think he's not that different.

In real life, when lion is old enough, it will left the pride to join other pride or form his own, so I don't mind Kion leaving the Pride Lands. I see his decision to leave as him has finally coming-of-age thing. The only problem I have with it is how there's not enough progress for Kion to make his decision. They should make a few episodes about him struggling whether to stay or leave before he make his decision like that. Season 3 didn't have enough episodes. They should at least make it 22 or 25 episodes.

    • Timon was more bitingly sarcastic in the 2019 film, whereas he came across as comically dumb in the original. I felt like it worked better in the 2019 version.

As for Kion, I more have a problem with a) the Tree of Life, and b) the pointlessness of the series. The Tree of Life is pretty much just a carbon-copy of the Pride Lands; it has a lion monarchy, a group of lions tasked with protecting the Circle of Life, a Royal Mjuzi, and an assortment of subjects who pay tribute to their monarch. Because of this, it felt unoriginal and repetitive.

The entire series was pointless, in my opinion, as we end up in the exact same place as Simba's Pride; the only difference is that Vitani leads the Lion Guard now. Kion has pretty much the same ending as Kiara, whereas he was set up to have his own place in the Circle of Life at the start of the series. Not to mention, his choice didn't involve any character growth, as he never really had to struggle through anything to achieve his goal (pseudo-snake venom doesn't count).

Not trying to be a griper. I just wasn't a huge fan of the ending, personally.

    • Honeyfur and Frost190 I know the series had its flaws but overall I liked it and I actually really like the Union with Kion and Rani, it is almost as good as Kovu and Kiara (but theirs is still the best Disney couple in my opinion). I felt the ending was really good and near perfect end for the cannon franchise, but that is just me. I have a another question for y'all though, if that is ok. One thing I did not like about the Lion guard was Simba's portrayal ,and remember I don't really like simba to begin with, he is just to wise and calm and his voice actor was awful. He is nothing like in Simba's Pride. That is why I wanted to ask you both; if Simba was like in the second movie do you think he would have been mad at Kion for getting his Scar? Do you think he would have disowned his son or at least act to him like he did with Kovu? What is your opinion on this?

        Loading editor
    • Also Frost190 thank you for commenting, yeah I know my views on simba are harsh but thank you for at least understanding my pt of view on him. Do you think it is bad as a lion king fan that Simba is my least favorite character though?

        Loading editor
    • Kovu/Kiara is my favorite couple from the The Lion King franchise. They're well-developed characters, get plenty of onscreen time together, and have good chemistry. I would love a series about their cubs, personally.

I do think Simba was a bit off in The Lion Guard, especially his voice. I love Rob Lowe, but he just doesn't sound like Matthew Broderick. I definitely think they captured Simba's judgmental nature in how he scolds Kion for recruiting non-lions, but overall, he is a bit too easygoing compared to how he is in Simba's Pride.

        Loading editor
    • I would definitely like to see that and see them interacting with Kion and Rani's cubs too. That would be awesome. I have always had the feeling that if Kiara and Kovu had a second born cub he/she would be very close to vitani, bordering on second mother. That is because the second born would be the successor of Vitani to the Lion Guard so she would probably teach him/her how to use the roar someday.

        Loading editor
    • Oh, yes. Kovu/Kiara is still the best couple in Lion King franchise to me. I'd love to see them having more screen time. Although, maybe it'll be hard for that to happen because I heard the two of them are not so popular in US compared to Simba and Nala. And I do like Kion/Rani, it's just that the way the show ends was too rushed for me.

To AdmiralZod1, I don't think it's bad if you dislike Simba. Despite The Lion King's popularity, the opinions of Simba himself are mixed, both positive and negative. In fact, Scar, who is the antagonist, is far more popular than Simba himself. So, it's totally fine if you dislike Simba.

Simba's judgemental nature sure is off in The Lion Guard. As Honeyfur said, it's shown when Simba scolded Kion for choosing non-lion animals for his Guard, but afterwards, none of that. He even accepted Jasiri and the hyenas so easily. And when he was willing to give Janja a chance, he praised Kion for his ability to forgive his enemies. He praised Kion for this, but yet he is being unforgiving to Kovu and the Outsiders in Simba's Pride, so it's just weird. Still, even Simba in The Lion Guard is acts the same as Simba in Simba's Pride, I don't think Simba will disown Kion or act like he did with Kovu just because of the scar. For all his flaw, Simba still loves his family regardless and put them above all else.
