"This Is My Home" is a musical piece composed by Hans Zimmer for The Lion King. It was released on June 24, 2014, as part of The Legacy Collection: The Lion King.
Use[]
In the soundtracks[]
"This Is My Home" was initially released on the complete film score under the title "Homeward Bound". However, the album was retracted after one day. On June 24, 2014, The Legacy Collection: The Lion King was released, with "Homeward Bound" having been remixed and titled "This Is My Home".
In the film[]
"This Is My Home" can be heard from when Simba runs across the desert en route to the Pride Lands to directly after he is joined by Nala, Timon, and Pumbaa to reclaim his kingdom.
Behind the scenes[]
- A version of the first part of this score can be heard in The Lion King 1½, when Pumbaa parodies Simba's run across the desert in the first film.[1]
- The Legacy Collection: The Lion King includes both the final cue and a demo version.
- The final version includes the "Hawaiian War Chant". In the film, there is a considerable gap between the end of Hans Zimmer's cue and the start of "Hawaiian War Chant".
