"The Trap" is a musical piece composed by Hans Zimmer for The Lion King. It was unofficially released as part of The Lion King (Complete Score).

Use[]

In the soundtracks[]

Shortly after the release of the film's soundtrack, "The Trap" was unofficially released as part of the complete film score.

On June 24, 2014, The Legacy Collection: The Lion King was released, with "The Trap" having been remixed and released under the title "Simba, It's to Die For".

In the film[]

Just before the stampede, "The Trap" can be heard. The track picks up right after Scar leaves Simba in the gorge and concludes with the hyenas leaving to startle the herd.

Behind the scenes[]

  • The score is immediately followed by and closely related to the score "Stampede".
  • The score's cue in the film is "4M9B 'The Signal'".
