The Royal Buffalo Wallow is a traditional event that takes place in the Pride Lands. It is a ceremony in which a group of cape buffalo wallow in the mud.

Poa! That sure looks like fun.

The Royal Buffalo Wallow is an event in which a herd of cape buffalo wallow in a mud pool together. The event cannot begin until a member of the monarchy arrives and announces the beginning of the Wallow. The herd then dives into the selected mud pool, in which they wallow.[1]

History[]

Past Royal Buffalo Wallows[]

Usually, the royals are always so stuffy at these things.

Members of the Pride Lands monarchy presided over Royal Buffalo Wallows in times past. Their manner was often observed by the cape buffalo to be too "stuffy" for the occasion.[1]

Kiara's Royal Buffalo Wallow[]

It's the first time I'm presiding over the Royal Buffalo Wallow. My mom and dad won't be there. It's just me. So, I have to make a good impression.

Kiara announces the start of the Royal Buffalo Wallow.

Simba and Nala, the rulers of Pride Rock, tasked their eldest cub, Kiara, with presiding over the upcoming Royal Buffalo Wallow. Due to flooding, Kiara arrived to the event covered in mud. The leader of the Cape buffalo, Vuruga Vuruga, praised Kiara for her messy appearance, asserting that though royals often showed up too "stuffy" for the event, clearly Kiara understood what the Wallow was all about.

Kiara thanked Vuruga Vuruga and credited her friends, Tiifu and Zuri, for helping her look her best. She then announced the start of the Wallow. At her word, the cape buffalo charged into the mud pool and wallowed in the mud.[1]
