How was the canon policy decided?[]

Not sure if this is allowed on the talk page, but why/how/when was it decided which specific entries would be considered canon the wiki, compared to the rest of the expanded universe throughout the other shows/comics/books/etc? BellNboots (talk) 12:58, 6 October 2023 (UTC)BellNboots

No worries. This is a fine place to post a question like this. Our canon policy is largely determined by how Disney treats the Lion King canon. For example, the Timon & Pumbaa show (aside from being obviously lore-breaking) is contradicted by The Lion King 1½, whereas The Lion Guard is treated as canon and in-line with the film franchise. Anything that is done by other authors and not formally acknowledged as "official" by Disney, like books or comics, is considered semi-canon. --Honeyfur 18:24, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
