The Lion King is an American comic series inspired by the film of the same name. It will be written and illustrated by Edwin Galmon. The first issue will be published by Dynamite Entertainment on November 19, 2025.

Conception and development

The Lion King marks the first writing credit for artist Edwin Galmon. Having grown up with the original 1994 film, Galmon's favorite scenes were the ones featuring Mufasa and his son, Simba. In writing the comic series, he aimed to capture the father-son bond between Mufasa and Simba as well as mentorship themes.
