The third season of the animated television series The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa premiered on January 1, 1999, with the airing of "Whiff / To Be Bee or Not To Be Bee", and ended on September 24, 1999, with the airing of "Mook Island / Cliphangers". It consists of 39 half-hour episodes. It is the final season of the series.
Information[]
After its original cancellation after the second season in 1996 (due to Disney purchasing ABC), The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa was produced for a third season in 1998 due to overseas demand. For this season, the show had a new set of writers and directors and was produced by the Canadian animation studio Studio B Productions for Walt Disney Television Animation. The episodes now open with the same title card artwork that is used in "Catch Me if You Kenya" and the Timon & Pumbaa logo that usually appeared at the frame is gone. These episodes premiered in the United States on the now-defunct Toon Disney in 1999.
Unlike the first two seasons, the third season focused entirely on Timon and Pumbaa and their Hakuna Matata lifestyle, as it did not have any segments focusing on any of the film's other supporting characters. The season further expanded on Timon and Pumbaa's jungle home, as it introduced more new animal characters as well as specific locations, such as Dismal Swamp and Big Bug Valley.
Most of the recurring characters from the first two seasons were notably absent, such as Simba, Speedy the Snail, Boss Beaver, Fred, Irwin, the Vulture Police, Rabbit, Toucan Dan, and the natives. The season introduced three new characters, such as Smolder, Little Jimmy, and Leslie Lambeau.

Trivia[]
- Although "Whiff/To Be Bee or Not To Be Bee" was the first episode of Season 3 to be broadcast and "Super Hog-O/Don't Have the Vegas Idea" was the tenth, their order is erroneously switched on Disney+; the latter is released as the first episode while the former is released as the tenth.[1]
- Likewise, "Visiting Pig-nitaries/The Truth About Kats and Hogs" is released as the fifth episode on the service while "So Sumo Me/Now Museum, Now You Don't" is released as the sixth episode, despite them being broadcasted the other way around.[1]
