The first season of the animated television series The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa premiered on September 8, 1995, with the airing of "Boara Boara / Saskatchewan Catch", and ended on December 29, 1995, with the airing of "Mozam-Beaked / Ocean Commotion". It consists of 25 half-hour episodes.

Premiering in the Fall of 1995, the first season of The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa had 13 episodes airing on the syndicated block The Disney Afternoon with 12 airing on CBS. While it focused primarily on Timon and Pumbaa, it had four episodes centering respectively on Rafiki and the hyena trio Shenzi, Banzai and Ed, which were under the names Rafiki Fables and The Laughing Hyenas. The season also occasionally featured music videos after the second segments, such as The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Yummy Yummy Yummy, and Stand By Me.

Throughout the season, Timon and Pumbaa were joined by several new characters. They met and befriended Speedy the Snail and Irwin, Pumbaa was introduced to Timon's former best friend Fred, and the duo frequently encountered Quint. Simba, who was the main protagonist of the original film, also joined in on Timon and Pumbaa's adventures from time to time.
