Information[]

Season 3 of The Lion Guard was announced in March 2017.[1] Production on Season 3 ended in early March of 2019, and the season officially aired in August of 2019 with a double-length episode, followed by 18 half-hour episodes.

The first 10 episodes of Season 3 were released on DisneyNOW on August 3, 2019. The rest of the season was released on September 2, 2019, also on DisneyNOW. The first ten episodes (sans "Battle for the Pride Lands") aired on television from September 7th to 29th of 2019, while the next eight episodes aired in October of 2019, with the final two episodes airing on November 2nd and 3rd of 2019.[2] The season became available on the streaming service Disney+, beginning December 1, 2019.[3]

Ford Riley stated via Twitter that Season 3 explains "why the Lion Guard isn't seen in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride,"[4] as the season shows the Lion Guard venturing out of the Pride Lands after their battle with Scar. New characters in the final season included Fikiri and Kitendo (voiced by Christopher Jackson and Heather Headley, respectively),[5] Rani (voiced by Peyton Elizabeth Lee),[6] and Azaad (voiced by Behzad Dabu).[7] Reprising their roles from The Lion King II: Simba's Pride were Jason Marsden and Lacey Chabert as Kovu and Vitani, respectively.[8]
