The tarsier is a male jackal.
In order to isolate Timon and Pumbaa from their lion friend, Simba, the jackal disguised himself as a tarsier and convinced them that Simba was a dangerous predator. Eventually, the jackal's tricks worked, and he lured Timon and Pumbaa to an isolated cave, where he revealed his true identity. However, before he could harm the duo, Simba arrived in their defense and defeated him once and for all.

The tarsier lived in the jungle. At some point in his life, he encountered Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa. He found Timon and Pumbaa to be appetizing and made many attempts to devour them. However, he was continually prevented from doing so by Simba. As the months passed, the tarsier tried to get Timon and Pumbaa away from Simba. Eventually, for his final attempt to separate the three friends, he disguised himself as a tarsier and resolved to trick Timon and Pumbaa into thinking that Simba had become a predator.[1]
Tricking Timon and Pumbaa[]
The tarsier manipulates Timon and Pumbaa.
Timon and Pumbaa came across a skeleton, and the tarsier appeared and claimed that there was a predator on the loose. He told the duo that Simba was the predator and warned them to get away from him, else he would eat them in their sleep.
Later, after Timon came to believe that Simba was the predator, the tarsier told him and Pumbaa to come with him to a safe place. The "safe place" turned out to be a cave that was filled with skeletons, where the tarsier revealed himself to be a jackal who had been trying to get Timon and Pumbaa away from Simba for months. He prepared to eat the duo, but just in time, Simba arrived and saved them. The tarsier quickly donned his disguise, but Simba picked him up and threw him far away from Timon and Pumbaa.[1]
Physical appearance[]
The tarsier is a large and lean jackal, with skinny legs and a hunched back. His pelt is gray, and his eyes are black.[1]
Personality and traits[]

The tarsier is cunning and manipulative. He managed to trick Timon and Pumbaa into distrusting their close friend, Simba, and would have devoured them if not for the intervention of Simba himself. In the face of impossible odds, the tarsier is a coward and will give in to the demands of his enemies.[1]
