I didn't know he was a bad guy. He told me he was just lookin' for new animals.
―Tangaagim on Beshte[src]

Tangaagim is a male polar bear.

When Beshte earned a notorious reputation around the Tree of Life, Tangaagim reported on him to Baliyo. Eventually, Beshte saved Pinguino's life, and the penguin subsequently cleared his name. Afterward, Tangaagim and his fellows forgave and cheered for Beshte.

One day, Makucha's army attacked the Tree of Life's animal residents, including Tangaagim. However, the Lion Guard arrived in time to save them.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Tangaagim lived in an arctic region of the Tree of Life's territory.[1]

Poa the Destroyer[]

When you're walking on ice, get as low as you can and really stomp. Like this.
―Tangaagim teaches Beshte how to walk on ice[src]

When Beshte wandered into the arctic region of the Tree of Life's territory, he slipped and fell on the ice. Tangaagim approached and taught him to crouch and step heavily so as not to lose his footing. Beshte asked where some other animals were, and Tangaagim pointed him toward the penguins.

When the other animals raised a complaint about Beshte's frequent destructive accidents, Tangaagim admitted that he had not thought that Beshte was capable of such horrible behavior. Later, Beshte encountered Tangaagim, who ignored him and ran away, as he was fearful of being the hippopotamus' next target.

In an effort to clear Beshte's name, Baliyo and Bunga led Tangaagim and the penguins to the Tree of Life. There, Pinguino told the gathered animals that Beshte had saved his life, and the crowd cheered for Beshte, including Tangaagim.[1]

Janna's death[]

Tangaagim waited outside the Tree of Life as Janna lay dying and reacted with sadness when her death was announced by Makini. Later, he attended her funeral at the Willows. He was also present at Rani's coronation.[2]

Battle for the Tree of Life[]

Tangaagim got attacked by Makucha's army at the Tree of Life. However, he was saved by the Lion Guard, particularly Kion's Roar of the Elders.[3]

Kion's coronation[]

Tangaagim attended Kion and Rani's wedding.[4]

Physical appearance[]

Us polar bears tend to blend in with the snow. Hey, want a little advice? One big guy to another?
―Tangaagim to Beshte[src]

Tangaagim is a large, heavily built, and muscular polar bear. He has long white fur, black claws, and a dark gray nose. His eyes are brown.[1]

Personality and traits[]

Well, there are those penguins over there, eh? I love watchin' 'em slide down the hill to the lake.
―Tangaagim[src]

Tangaagim is easygoing and friendly. He is willing to help out strangers, as seen when he taught Beshte how to walk on ice. Despite his imposing size, he is somewhat timid and easily frightened, as he fled from Beshte when he believed the hippopotamus was a menace and did not fight back when Makucha's army attacked the Tree of Life.[3] He enjoys watching penguins slide on the ice.[1]
