In the soundtracks
"Simba Is Alive!" was released digitally on July 11, 2019, and will be released physically on July 19, 2019, as part of the soundtrack of The Lion King. It is one of nine scores from the release, in addition to "Life's Not Fair", "Rafiki's Fireflies", "Elephant Graveyard", "Stampede", "Scar Takes the Throne", "Reflections of Mufasa", "Battle for Pride Rock", and "Remember".
In the film
"Simba Is Alive!" plays when Simba leaves his conversation with Timon and Pumbaa in order to grieve his father. It plays as a tuft of his mane carries across the savanna until it reaches Rafiki in his tree. It ends as Rafiki realizes that Simba is alive.
Behind the scenes
- Hans Zimmer used Mufasa's theme to underscore the scene in which a tuft of Simba's mane drifts back to the Pride Lands as a requiem for his own deceased father.[1]
