Rhino is a rhinoceros.
When Simba got trapped in Rhino's family tree, they saved him by uprooting it. Afterward, they accepted Simba's invitation to shelter at Pride Rock instead, much to the resident pride's annoyance.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Rhino lived in the Pride Lands. They became quite fond of a tree that used to shelter their family.[1]
Uprooting their family tree[]
During a rainstorm, Simba and Nala sheltered beneath Rhino, who was standing in the shelter of a tree. Simba assured Nala that Rhino was harmless and explained that they always slept beneath the "ugly" tree when it rained. This angered Rhino, but they decided not to chase Simba due to his status as Mufasa's son. Rhino explained that, though the tree had fallen into a dilapidated state, it used to protect their family and thus represented many fond memories.
After the rainstorm passed, the cubs left to play at Slide Rock. However, while playing, Simba got stuck inside Rhino's family tree. Nala implored Rhino to uproot the tree in order to save Simba. Though at first aghast at the suggestion, Rhino agreed due to the fact that the tree was rotting anyway. They uprooted the tree, and Simba was saved.
That night, the cubs allowed Rhino to stay at Pride Rock, where the rhinoceros expressed that their new sleeping conditions were much better.[1]
Physical appearance[]
Rhino is large and bulky, with a hunched back and folds of brown skin. They have two pale horns on their nose, one of which is longer than the other. Their inner ears are pink, and the outsides are covered in nicks. Their eyes are black.[1]
