Rafiki on his vision[src]

Rafiki's tree is a location in the Pride Lands. It is the home of Rafiki.

History[]

Discovery[]

Before journeying to the fabled paradise of Milele (later known as the Pride Lands), Rafiki had dreams about a baobab tree where he would be reunited with his brother. Eventually, he reached Milele and found the tree from his vision. He then realized that the brother he had been dreaming of had been Mufasa all along.[1] From that point forward, Rafiki made the tree his home.[2]

Simba's presentation[]

After the birth of Mufasa's son, Simba, Rafiki drew a painting of the cub on his tree.[2]

Scar's coronation[]

When Scar became the new king of the Pride Lands, Rafiki and Zazu watched his coronation disapprovingly from Rafiki's tree. Afterwards, Rafiki smeared his painting of Simba.[2]

Rafiki's revelation[]

Seasons later, when Simba was full-grown, a piece of his mane was carried by an ant past Rafiki's tree. Upon seeing it, Rafiki studied it and realized that it belonged to Simba. Ecstatic that the young prince had survived, Rafiki drew a mane on his painting of Simba and exclaimed joyously in Xhosa.[2]

Battle for Pride Rock[]

Shortly before Simba confronted Scar at Pride Rock, Rafiki visited his tree and retrieved his staff.[2]
