The panther is a male panther.
The panther relentlessly chased Timon and Pumbaa. Eventually, he trapped them inside a large tree, where they made many escape attempts. However, after the panther foiled each of their plans, the duo resolved to wait him out. Years passed, and still, the friends could not escape the tree. Finally, after Pumbaa nearly ate Timon, the two gave themselves up to the panther, only to find that he had grown too old and feeble to eat meat. For old time's sake, he opted to chase them instead.
Biography[]
Early life[]
The panther lived in the Amazon.[1]
Conflict with Timon and Pumbaa[]
The panther traps Timon and Pumbaa in a tree.
The panther chased Timon and Pumbaa. In order to evade the panther, Pumbaa hopped across a river, and Timon flushed the panther down the stream. Elated at their victory, Timon jeered at the cat as he was carried down the river. Pumbaa, however, was concerned about the close call. Timon brushed the remark aside and claimed to be "charmed in a lucky, fortunate type way."
No sooner had Timon bragged about his good luck when the panther suddenly reappeared and chased the duo into a hollow tree. Pumbaa immediately descended into a panic because the panther remained poised outside the sole entryway. However, Timon was convinced that they could climb the tree and jump from bough to bough in order to escape. Their plan was cut off by the panther, who chopped down all the trees in their area.

After this first failure, Timon devised a series of different escape methods, all of which Pumbaa refused. At last, the two settled on making a run for it, but the panther chased them right back into their hollow tree. Dejected and defeated, the two made up their minds to simply wait the predator out. Days passed, during which Timon and Pumbaa tried to entertain themselves in an attempt to forget their hunger. Days became months, and months became years, and still, Timon and Pumbaa refused to venture out of the tree.
At last, in the year 2090, after Pumbaa nearly ate Timon, the two decided that they would rather die as friends than as mad enemies. Together, the two exited the tree and proclaimed to the panther that they were ready to be eaten. The great cat, however, had grown too old and informed the friends that he could only eat mush and drink prune juice. He then offered to chase them anyway, so the duo raced off into the sunset, with the panther in pursuit.[1]
Physical appearance[]
As an adult, the panther was large and muscular. He had a dark gray pelt, with pale eye rims and a black nose. His eyes were red. After aging, the panther became skinny and feeble, and had to use a wheelchair to get around. He grew a gray beard and bushy gray eyebrows. Additionally, he became more humanoid in appearance, as he gained four-fingered hands and human-like feet as opposed to paws.[1]
Personality and traits[]
The panther is a fierce and relentless hunter, as he was willing to wait out Timon and Pumbaa for years.[1]
