Mother Gorilla is a female gorilla.
One day, Mother Gorilla saved Timon and Pumbaa from Congo Quint and decided to adopt them. At first, the two went along with the charade, as they hoped Mother Gorilla would protect them from Quint. However, when their treachery was revealed, she chased after them in a rage. Before she could harm the two, Quint caught her in a net, but she managed to grab him and smash him repeatedly against the ground. This prompted Timon to snap photos of the incident so he could sell the pictures to magazines.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Mother Gorilla lived in the jungle.[1]
Adopting Timon and Pumbaa[]
One day, Mother Gorilla stumbled upon Timon and Pumbaa being chased by Congo Quint. Just before Quint could harm the duo, Mother Gorilla saved them and resolved to take them home as her babies. Unbeknownst to Mother Gorilla, Timon approved of the arrangement, as it meant that Mother Gorilla would protect him and Pumbaa from Quint.

Mother Gorilla adopts Timon and Pumbaa.
No sooner had Timon and Pumbaa moved in with Mother Gorilla when a male gorilla knocked on the door of her house and proposed to her. Delighted, she accepted his proposal and left to fetch a wedding dress. While she was gone, the male gorilla revealed himself to be Quint in disguise. Before long, Mother Gorilla returned and began to discuss the wedding with Quint, only for Timon to sneak up behind Quint and unzip his costume. Enraged by Quint's deception, Mother Gorilla kicked him out of her house.
Once safe from Quint, Timon and Pumbaa reflected on the situation. While Pumbaa felt guilty for lying to Mother Gorilla, Timon insisted that they were safer in her care and that "nice guys finish last."

Pumbaa confesses the truth to Mother Gorilla.
Later that day, three gorillas visited Mother Gorilla so they could see her new "babies." After the newcomers cuddled Timon and Pumbaa for a bit, Mother Gorilla presented three baby gorillas for her adoptive babies to play with. Unable to keep up the act, Pumbaa confessed the truth to Mother Gorilla. During his confession, he admitted that they had taken advantage of her "maternal instincts for personal safety and comfort," which enraged her and caused her to chase them around the jungle.
Eventually, Quint caught Mother Gorilla in a net and took a photograph of Timon and Pumbaa. However, as Quint walked by Mother Gorilla's net, she caught hold of him and began to bang him against the ground. Taking advantage of the situation, Timon snapped photos of the incident in the hopes that he could sell the pictures to magazines.[1]
Physical appearance[]
Mother Gorilla is a large gorilla with a potbelly and a dark brown pelt. She has a tan face, chest, hands, and feet as well as blue eyes. She wears red lipstick, dangly golden earrings, and a pink, blue-spotted bikini top.[1]
Personality and traits[]
Mother Gorilla is caring and maternal. When she saw Timon and Pumbaa in danger from Congo Quint, she saved their lives and took them in as her own. Despite her relatively gentle nature, she has a nasty temper, as seen when she attacked Quint and Timon and Pumbaa for having deceived her.[1]
