Biography

When the Lion King was produced, Williams lived in Oceanside, California. She started playing the piano at the age of 3. [1] In 1987, she won first place in the Talent America National Finals for piano in New York, and went on to receive other major recognition. As a vocalist, she performed with various San Diego area church choirs and was named a vocal finalist at the 1993 Bach Baroque Festival and at the Golden Gate International Children's Choral Festival. [1]

Williams provided the singing voice for cub Nala in the song, "I Just Can't Wait to be King", alongside Jason Weaver and Rowan Atkinson. A year later, Williams was awarded the Young Artist Award (with Weaver) for Best Performance by a Young Actress in a Voiceover - TV or Movie. [2]

Williams had a recurring role on the series, Amen, as Girl Angel/Janet, [3] and made guest appearances on Jake and the Fatman and Sinbad as well as roles in several national commercials. Her first motion picture she was featured in was the 1990 comedy, Downtown.[1] Additionally, she was featured in the print ad campaign for the Barbara Bush Literary Foundation, and was very active in a variety of community projects. [1]

After that, Williams became a member of the 23-member contemporary gospel recording group, "All God's Children," executive produced by Lou Adler (who directed Up in Smoke, co-starring Cheech Marin) for Ode Records. [1]
