Kwashi is a male baboon.
When the king of the Ndona Pride, Mufasa, was murdered by Scar, Kwashi urged Mufasa's son and heir, Simba, to flee the Pride Lands. Years later, when Simba was an adult, Kwashi allied with him and helped him defeat Scar.

Early life[]
Kwashi befriended a mongoose named Mabu.[1]
Friendship with Simba[]
Simba got carried away from his pride and dropped into a pond by an enormous bird of prey. There, he was discovered by Kwashi and Mabu, who took him to live with a troop of baboons. Simba did his best to live as a baboon, to no avail, so Kwashi and Mabu attempted to teach him how to be a lion instead. This led to another series of misadventures.[1]

Physical appearance[]
Kwashi is old and frail, with a long silver beard and mane, and brown fur. His nose is pink, and his face is tan tinged with pink.[2]
Personality and traits[]
Kwashi was willing to take in a young Simba and teach him how to be a baboon. Despite Kwashi's best efforts, he was unable to teach Simba effectively.[1]
