Biography[]
Early life[]
Kumpel lived in the Pride Lands.[1]
Kidnapping Nala[]
In the hopes of using Mufasa's son, Simba, as leverage, Kumpel and their fellow gorillas pursued Simba, but the cub got away.
Later, when Simba tried to find Nala, he found her being held ransom by the gorillas in a dark cave. Nala told the apes that Mufasa would save her, and they told her that this was precisely what they wanted to happen. Simba then "roared," which caused a few boulders to fall on the gorillas' heads. In fear, Kumpel and their friends fled from Simba.[1]
Physical appearance[]
Kumpel is a large, muscular gorilla. They have dark gray fur, with a pale gray chest, hands, face, and feet. They have black eyes with yellow sclerae.[1]
Personality and traits[]
Kumpel is aggressive and willing to use young cubs to achieve their ends.[1]

- "Kumpel" may not be the gorilla's actual name because "Kumpel" means "friend" in German.[2]
