Nothing to fear down here.
―Kuchimba to Tiifu, to soothe her fear of the dark[src]

Kuchimba is a male golden mole.

When the Bunga, Kiara, Kion, Tiifu, and Zuri find themselves trapped underground, Kuchimba helps them navigate through the tunnels. Along the way, he encourages Tiifu to not be afraid of the dark, which inspires her to give the same advice to Thurston when he becomes frightened of the underground.

The Lion Guard

"The Underground Adventure"

The name's Kuchimba. Sorry about before. We golden moles are...a little territorial.

After a fire, Kion and his friends, Bunga, Kiara, Tiifu, and Zuri, take shelter in underground tunnels.

Kuchimba sings "Nothin' to Fear Down Here", during which he encourages Tiifu to overcome her fear of the dark

While trying to navigate their way out, they encounter Kuchimba, who tries to protect his tunnels from them. Once he realizes that they are simply passing through, he offers to help them find their way out. Tiifu questions Kuchimba as to whether he is afraid of the dark, and Kuchimba assures her that there is no reason to fear being underground ("Nothin' to Fear Down Here").

Eventually, he leads them to the end of his tunnel and instructs them to take the main tunnel out into the Pride Lands.

Personality and traits

Kuchimba is feisty and territorial. He can be blunt and sharp-tongued, though he softens considerably once a threat has passed. He can be easygoing and friendly, as seen when he comforts Tiifu for being afraid of the dark.
