Kuchimba is a male golden mole.
When Bunga, Kiara, Kion, Tiifu, and Zuri found themselves trapped underground, Kuchimba helped them navigate through the tunnels. Along the way, he encouraged Tiifu to not be afraid of the dark, which inspired her to give the same advice to Thurston when he became frightened of the underground.

Kuchimba encourages Tiifu to overcome her fear of the dark.
After a fire, Kion and his friends, Bunga, Kiara, Tiifu, and Zuri, took shelter in underground tunnels. While trying to navigate their way out, they encountered Kuchimba, who tried to protect his tunnels from them. Once he realized that they were simply passing through, he offered to help them find their way out. Tiifu questioned Kuchimba as to whether he was afraid of the dark, and Kuchimba assured her that there was no reason to fear being underground. Eventually, he led them to the end of his tunnel and instructed them to take the main tunnel out into the Pride Lands.[1]
