Kevin Michael Richardson is an actor and voice-over artist who voices Tumbaa and Tutan Pharaoh from The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa and Basi from The Lion Guard.


Born and raised in New York, Richardson first gained recognition as being one of eight high school students chosen for the National Foundation for the Arts' "Arts '82" program. This paved the way for a scholarship to Syracuse University, as well as a position on a PBS special.

Richardson's debut role was Mayor Tilton on the animated television series The Mask. Since then, he has provided his voice for many film, television, and video game roles, including Tumbaa and Tutan Pharaoh from The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa, Captain Gantu from Lilo & Stitch, Goro from Mortal Kombat, and Jolee Bindo from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Recently, he has taken on the role of Basi, father of Beshte, from the television series The Lion Guard.

Personal Life

In May 2006, Richardson married Monica, with whom he has two children.
