Template:People infobox Joseph Francis "Joe" Alaskey was an American stand-up comedian, actor, voice actor, and musician. He voiced Little Jimmy in The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa.

Biography

Career

Alaskey was one of Mel Blanc's successors at the Warner Bros. Animation studios. He is known for voicing the WB cartoon characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and many more. Alaskey also voiced Plucky Duck from the Steven Spielberg-produced Tiny Toon Adventures from 1990-95.

Alaskey is also known for voicing Grandpa Lou Pickles from the 1991-2004 Nicktoon Rugrats. He reprised his role as the character in the show's spin-off series All Grown Up!, as well as the Rugrats film trilogy.

Personal life

At age 3, Alaskey was looking at a pair of sunglasses or people's cigar butts so that he could portray different characters. He was later interested in archaeology at the age of ten. After archaeology, Alaskey became interested in becoming a priest and an English Teacher. In the 1970s, he moved to New York City and while he was initially there, he worked in insurance while the acting was getting started.[1]

On February 3, 2016, Alaskey died from cancer in Green Island, New York. He was never married and never had children.[2]
