Well, you're a jeweler! What are you waiting for?! Get going! Go, go, go!
―The jeweler's wife to her husband, on Speedy the Snail[src]

The jeweler's wife is a female human.

The jeweler's wife wanted to turn Speedy the Snail's shell into an earring. With the help of her husband, she kidnapped Speedy and wore his shell in one ear. However, through the efforts of Timon and Pumbaa, Speedy escaped and left the couple behind.

Biography[]

Early life[]

At some point in her life, the jeweler's wife married the jeweler.[1]

Kidnapping Speedy[]

OC Timon Pumbaa Speedy & couple2

The jeweler's wife demands her husband make an earring out of Speedy's shell.

After Speedy rescued Timon and Pumbaa from being thrown off the ship by Captain Quint, the jeweler and his wife noticed Speedy's shell and suggested that it would make a perfect earring. The couple kidnapped Speedy, leaving it up to Timon and Pumbaa to rescue him.

While the jeweler and his wife prepared to make an earring out of Speedy's shell, Timon and Pumbaa drilled a hole in the ceiling, and Timon took a hook to save Speedy. The jeweler saw the hook and threw it in the ocean, and Timon accidentally caught an octopus, which attacked the two friends.

OC Speedy & wife

The jeweler's wife sports Speedy's shell as her new earring.

For their second attempt to rescue Speedy, Timon and Pumbaa disguised themselves as pirates who wanted Speedy, but the jeweler's wife wanted to be their pirate queen. After Pumbaa told the truth, he and Timon got kicked out of the cabin.

Timon and Pumbaa went underwater for their third attempt. Timon spotted the room where Speedy and the couple were. The meerkat then drilled a hole in the bottom of the boat, and Pumbaa tried to stop him. This made the boat fall and land on the two.

Timon and Pumbaa set up various obstacles to trap the married couple and save Speedy. However, the plan backfired, as the couple passed all the obstacles safely. Timon and Pumbaa then saw that Speedy had been made into an earring for the jeweler's wife; hence, they were too late. The couple entered the ship lounge, and, knowing that they could not just remove Speedy from the jeweler's wife's ear in front of all the other passengers, Timon and Pumbaa decided to be sneaky.

OC Pumbaa Speedy & couple

The jeweler and his wife confront Timon and Pumbaa.

Timon and Pumbaa successfully saved Speedy from the couple without being noticed. While the three friends were walking on the deck, they got caught by the couple, who had just realized that Speedy was missing from one of the jeweler's wife's ears. Timon, Pumbaa, and Speedy got chased by the couple until they entered the captain's room. Timon made all the passengers (including the couple) get out of the boat by tricking them into thinking that there was gold underwater. When Pumbaa made Timon realize that the passengers would get back on the boat after discovering that there really was not any gold, the meerkat decided to move the ship.

Timon pulled the lever but accidentally made the boat move too fast. After the meerkat re-pushed the lever to make the boat stop, the three friends made it to Speedy's home. However, they got caught by the couple once again. Timon pushed the lever to make the boat move backward so that he, Pumbaa, and Speedy could get off, with the couple still on the ship.

With Speedy safe and sound (and with a new gold shell), he said his goodbyes to Timon and Pumbaa, only to get captured by a seagull, which left it up to Timon and Pumbaa to rescue him once again.[1]

Physical appearance[]

The jeweler's wife is a tall, slender woman. She has fair skin, long blond hair, and black eyes. She wears a black dress, a pink belt, golden bracelets, and dark pink high heels.[1]

Personality and traits[]

The jeweler's wife is bossy, greedy, and demanding. She only cares about using Speedy's shell as an earring so she can look beautiful, showing no concern for his life. She is also a fan of pirates. When Timon and Pumbaa disguised themselves as pirates in an attempt to rescue Speedy, she demanded that they make her their pirate queen, without any second thoughts about whether or not it would mean leaving her husband behind.[1]

Appearances[]

Trivia[]

  • The jeweler's wife bears a striking resemblance to Torgo's human form. The only difference is that the jeweler's wife wears a black dress, while Torgo wears a red dress.[3]
