I know it sounds scary, but this is our home, and we need to defend it. Kwetu ni kwetu. Home is home.
Jasiri galvanizes her clan against Scar[src]

Jasiri's clan is a group of hyenas led by Jasiri. They reside in the Outlands.

When the Outsiders forced Jasiri's clan out of their watering hole, Jasiri appealed to Kion for help. With some help from the Lion Guard, the pair drove the Outsiders away, and Jasiri's clan was able to return home.

Later, Jasiri learned of Scar's resurrection and inspired her clan to form the Hyena Resistance against him. Working together, the Hyena Resistance continually foiled Scar's planned assaults on the Pride Lands. Eventually, he learned of the clan's existence and ordered his army to eliminate them. However, the Lion Guard defended their hyena allies and drove Scar's minions away.

Seasons later, Jasiri's clan participated in the Pride Lander invasion of the Outlands, from which they emerged victorious. Afterwards, Jasiri became the queen of the Outlands.

History[]

Conflict with the Outsiders[]

They've taken over my family's watering hole. And they won't share it.
―Jasiri on the Outsiders[src]

When a pride of lions known as the Outsiders drove Jasiri's clan from their watering hole, Jasiri appealed to her friend, Kion, for help. As the two entered the Outlands together, she admitted that she had not been certain he would help her, since her conflict was with lions. Kion replied that the Outsiders likely did not know that Jasiri was a good hyena and that it was all simply a misunderstanding.

Kion meets Jasiri's clan.

Just then, the pair arrived at Jasiri's clan's hideaway, and Jasiri introduced Kion to her sister, Madoa. Though he attempted to greet two hyena cubs named Tunu and Wema, they shied away from him fearfully, and Madoa explained that they had only ever met bad lions. Kion resolved to rectify the situation, then left to confront the Outsiders alongside Jasiri.

With some help from the Lion Guard, Jasiri and Kion drove the Outsiders away from the hyenas' watering hole, and Jasiri's clan was able to return home. Afterwards, Madoa told Kion that she was glad Jasiri had him for a friend. He tried once more to befriend Tunu and Wema, but they simply fled from him again, to Jasiri's and Madoa's amusement.[1]

Janja's attack on Jasiri, Tunu, and Wema[]

Oh, this ain't about turf, Jasiri. I told ya this wasn't over. Get her.
―Janja orders his clan to attack Jasiri[src]

One day, Jasiri stole Janja's territory from him, as he had forgotten to mark it for the dry season. Later, she was playing with Tunu and Wema when Janja and his clan attacked. Though Jasiri attempted to protect the cubs, Janja forced the trio into an open steam vent, where lava was steadily rising to the surface. As the rest of Janja's clan gathered around the steam vent, blocking any attempt at escape, Madoa resolved to get Kion's help.

Eventually, Madoa reached the Lion Guard and reported what had happened to Jasiri. With Madoa in the lead, the Lion Guard entered the Outlands. As they neared the scene of Janja's attack, Kion suggested that Madoa leave so that she could protect the rest of her clan. She agreed and departed, leaving the Lion Guard to assess Jasiri's predicament themselves.

On their own, the Lion Guard confronted Janja and his clan. As a battle broke out between the two groups, the Guard overpowered the hyenas and helped Jasiri, Tunu, and Wema escape the steam vent. Unwilling to fight both Jasiri and the Lion Guard, Janja fled alongside the rest of his clan.[2]

Formation of the Hyena Resistance[]

Scar may know about me and the little ones, but he doesn't know about all of us. While the Guard is protecting the Pride Lands, we can ruin Scar's plans here, in the Outlands. Together, we can be a hyena resistance!

Jasiri's clan foils one of Scar's plots.

In light of learning about Scar's resurrection, Jasiri informed her clanmates. She then galvanized them into forming a Hyena Resistance against him and his army. Working together, the Hyena Resistance foiled several plots by Scar and his army to attack the Pride Lands. Eventually, while Jasiri was celebrating her organization's success with Kion on the border of their two kingdoms, Scar's skink spies overheard and reported what they had learned to Scar. He, in turn, ordered his army to lure the Lion Guard away, then attack the Hyena Resistance.

As Scar's plan unfolded, the Lion Guard went to Mizimu Grove in anticipation of an attack, while the Hyena Resistance got ambushed by Scar's army in the Outlands. Just in time, Ono spotted their peril, and the Lion Guard raced to the rescue, driving off the enemy Outlanders. Afterwards, Jasiri re-solidified her clan's alliance with the Lion Guard.[3]

Battle for the Pride Lands[]

We can help too, Your Majesty. My hyenas know the Outlands better than anyone.
―Jasiri to Simba[src]

Over the seasons, Jasiri and her clan assisted the Lion Guard in thwarting Scar's attacks on the Pride Lands. Eventually, Simba resolved to invade the Outlands, and Jasiri pledged her clan's support to him.

That night, Scar's army set fire to Pride Rock, and Janja appealed to Jasiri for help. Together, the pair returned to the Pride Landers, and Jasiri iterated her trust in Janja's reformation. Janja then revealed that Kion could defeat Scar by using his most powerful Roar inside the volcano's caldera.

The next day, Jasiri's clan participated in the Pride Lander invasion of the Outlands, from which they emerged victorious. After the battle, Jasiri became the queen of the Outlands, and Janja's clan formally integrated into hers.[4]

Outsiders' attack on the Pride Lands[]

You've saved my family and home more than once. Just returning the favor.
―Jasiri to Kion[src]

Upon learning of the Outsiders' attack on the Pride Lands, Janja and Jasiri traveled to the Tree of Life to inform the Lion Guard. Together, the hyenas and the Guard journeyed back to the Pride Lands to stop the Outsiders.[5]

Return119

Jasiri's clan assists Kion in opposing Vitani's Lion Guard.

As the Lion Guard reached the Outlands, they were greeted by Cheezi, Chungu, and Madoa. Madoa informed Jasiri that the Outsiders had already attacked the Pride Lands and that their clan had gone into hiding, as they could not fight lions, and Jasiri commended her sister's decision. At that moment, Mzingo approached, and Jasiri employed him to help them fight the Outsiders.

As the group continued on, nearing the border of the Pride Lands, Vitani and her self-formed Lion Guard attacked, and Jasiri's clan assisted Kion in fighting them off. In the midst of the fight, Kiara intervened and explained that the Outsiders had joined Simba's pride. With the conflict resolved, Jasiri and Kion exchanged fond farewells, and Jasiri reminded him that he knew where to find her should he ever need help.[6]
