Synopsis

Timon and Pumbaa go to college. But the students like Pumbaa more.

Plot

"Ivy Beleaguered" begins by introducing Timon, a meerkat, and Pumbaa, a warthog. The episode starts with Timon and Pumbaa standing at the entrance of a college. Pumbaa is excited about that, but Timon isn't because he thinks all they will be doing is working. When the two get to the stairs, the students show them that they do nothing but relax and have parties, which makes Timon change his mind. The students give Timon and Pumbaa the college uniforms that look like Greek clothing.

Timon, Pumbaa, and the students are at a football field. The students teach the two how to play football; Timon fails to catch the ball and Pumbaa succeeds. Next, the students check to see how loud Timon and Pumbaa's burps are by using a thermometer. It shows that Pumbaa's burp is louder than Timon's and the students congratulate the warthog and accepts him in the college.

Timon wants to join the college as well and the students discuss what they will do with the meerkat. One of the students tells Timon to go to a lookout post and Timon agrees to do so. When Timon arrives to the post, he runs into an old meerkat who says that he's waited at the post since 1907. Timon goes back to the college to complain about his job, but one of the students closes the door.

The college is now having a party. Pumbaa talks to his new college friends while Timon tries to dance with the ladies. But the students think Timon is a rat and they try to step on him.

Pumbaa is now having lunch with his new friends while Timon is sitting by himself. Timon is about to complain to Pumbaa about how the students are treating him but Pumbaa tells his friend that he's happy about his popularity, which makes Timon tell the warthog that he's having a good time instead.

The college is having another party. Pumbaa tells one of the students that he misses Timon and the student honestly tells the warthog that the reason they sent Timon to the lookout post is so that the meerkat won't bother them while they're having fun, which makes Pumbaa really angry and attacks the students.

Meanwhile, Timon is sitting outside believing that Pumbaa and the students are having fun. Then Timon and Pumbaa run into each other. Timon tells his friend that the reason he told Pumbaa a story of him having a great time is that he didn't want to hurt his feelings because of his popularity, but Pumbaa tells the meerkat that he would rather be with him than being popular. Timon and Pumbaa are now lying beside a tree wearing the college uniforms.
