At Big Springs, the Lion Guard encounters members of Basi's pod, who inform them that the watering hole has suddenly dried up. Beshte worries about what this will mean for his pod, but Bunga brushes him off, dismissing the water as boring. The Guard goes to Rafiki for help, and Rafiki explains that the water source is at Hippo Springs, which can be reached by a long and treacherous route.
The team follows a stream toward the mountains, but the stream eventually disappears underground. Bunga suggests using stones that Rafiki had given them, but Fuli offers to scout out the area herself.
Fuli scouts the area by passing Gnu Plain, the old baobab tree, and a rock that looks like a [[Rhinoceroses|rhinoceros]. She then reaches Hippo Springs.
The Lion Guard travels to a crossroads, with three stones at each road, where Bunga uses Rafiki's stones to figure out which path is the correct one.
The team arrives at Hippo Springs, where they discover that a rock slide has blocked the water. Beshte proceeds to push the rocks out of the way, and the Guard is safely swept away by the rush of water. They return to a grateful Basi, and Kion adds that it hadn't been easy. Rafiki points out that their adventure wasn't for nothing, as Bunga is no longer uninterested in the water.
