Hakuna Matata is a board book inspired by The Lion King. It was published by Mouse Works on July 1, 1994, as part of the The Lion King: Little Library.
Plot
Scar orders Simba to leave the Pride Lands, and the cub does so, not knowing that Scar has sent his hyena cronies to follow and kill him. Simba barely escapes the hyenas by diving into a patch of thorns.
Luckily, Simba is rescued by two outcasts, Timon and Pumbaa, who teach him about "Hakuna Matata" - which means "no worries". Time passes, and Simba grows from a cub into a young adult. One day, he saves Pumbaa from a hungry lioness, who turns out to be his childhood friend Nala. Nala tells Simba that Scar has destroyed the Pride Lands in Simba's absence.
That night, Rafiki appears to the young lion and advises him to look to the stars for guidance.
