We must go to the Great Pond, where everyone gathers.
Rafiki to Simba[src]

The Great Pond is a watering hole in Grass Walls. It was the former gathering place of Jelani and his troop of mandrills.

History[]

Khalfani's reign[]

Under Khalfani, Grass Walls flourished, and the Great Pond sustained his entire troop of mandrills. It was often used as a central gathering place.[1]

Jelani's reign[]

A severe drought struck Grass Walls, causing the Great Pond to dwindle to a big puddle. One day, Rafiki returned to Grass Walls alongside his friend, Simba. Upon seeing what a wasteland his homeland had become, Rafiki resolved to find his troop at the Great Pond.

Together, Rafiki and Simba walked to the Great Pond, where Rafiki reunited with his troop. One of the mandrills, Dalila, informed him that everything had dried up, leaving the troop without water. She then led Rafiki and Simba to where their leader, Jelani, was resting beneath a tree.[1]

Attributes[]

We have no water, Rafiki. Everything has dried up.
―Dalila[src]

Once a water hole able to sustain an entire troop of mandrills, the Great Pond has since dwindled to the size of a big puddle. Near the Great Pond are several bare trees that offer little shade.[1]
