A gift? For me?
Pumbaa, when Timon offers him a gift[src]

A Gift is a Gift is a German comic inspired by The Lion King. It was published by Ehapa Verlag on January 13, 2004.

Synopsis[]

Timon offered his friend, Pumbaa, a leaf-wrapped gift. Pumbaa pointed out that it was not his birthday yet, but Timon insisted that he wanted to give the gift because they were best friends. Accepting the package with delight, Pumbaa wondered if there were grubs inside, and Timon encouraged him to see for himself.

To Timon's shock, Pumbaa suddenly handed the present back and argued that he did not have anything to give Timon in return. Though Timon contended that a reciprocal gift was unnecessary, Pumbaa wailed that he was a lousy friend. Growing frustrated, Timon ordered Pumbaa to accept the gift and complained that he was getting a headache. At this, Pumbaa took deep offense, and Timon finally gave up, leaving the gift behind and declaring that he would rather get himself a present.

Just then, a hornbill flew by, snatched up the gift, and carried it away. With the present gone, Pumbaa asked Timon what had been inside it, but Timon shushed Pumbaa and lamented having gotten the gift at all.
