Five Stones is a landmark in the Pride Lands.
When Rafiki visited the Pride Lands for the first time, Zuzu advised him to rest in the shade at Five Stones. He journeyed there, only to get attacked by a trio of hungry hyenas. Before the hyenas could harm him, King Ahadi intervened, ordering them to leave Rafiki alone. Later, Mufasa met his younger brother, Taka, at Five Stones so they could go hunting together.

One day, Zuzu spotted an outsider named Rafiki wandering around the Pride Lands. Upon noticing how tired he was, she suggested that he lie down in the shade. He admitted that he did not know where he could rest, to which she suggested that he visit Five Stones. Once she had flown off, he found Five Stones easily and realized that it was the only shade for miles around.
At that moment, Rafiki was attacked by a trio of hyenas named Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed. Before the hyenas could harm him, King Ahadi approached with his sons, Mufasa and Taka, and ordered the trio to leave Rafiki alone.
Later, Taka told Mufasa to meet him at Five Stones so they could go hunting together. Shortly afterwards, as Rafiki was trailing Taka, Zuzu informed him that Mufasa had been heading toward Five Stones the last time she had seen him. Rafiki traveled to Five Stones alone and found only a whiff of the brothers' scents.[1]
Pamba's lie[]

When Mayai went "missing," his sister Pamba told Zazu that they had been playing hide-the-feather in the trees near Five Stones when he had disappeared. Zazu reported what he had learned to Mufasa, and the two went to Five Stones to search for Mayai. To their confusion and relief, the young ostrich turned up completely unharmed.
Later, when Zazu needed time to think, he flew over Five Stones.[2]
