The Great Cub-House Search is a short story inspired by The Lion King. It was published by Disney Press on September 24, 2019, as part of Disney Animals Storybook Collection.

Plot summary[]
Sarabi gives her son, Simba, a bath despite his yearning for an adventure instead. Afterward, Simba invites his friend, Nala, to find a clubhouse with him, but Sarabi warns him that he must take Zazu with him and be home before dark. Simba leads Nala to a large rock and declares it to be the perfect clubhouse, as Zazu will never be able to find it.
Just then, Simba's uncle Scar approaches and asks what the cubs are up to. Simba explains that he and Nala are looking for a clubhouse, then proceeds to lead her into Scar's cave. Disgruntled at the thought of the cubs playing in his cave, Scar lies that Zazu will be visiting soon, which convinces the cubs to look elsewhere for a clubhouse.
Next, the cubs travel to the water hole, where they play together in the water. However, Simba accidentally bumps into an elephant's leg, and the cubs get caught up in the herd. They run into a crash of rhinoceroses, then a flock of flamingos. Because of the chaos, the cubs decide to look elsewhere for their clubhouse.
As they leave the water hole, Nala has another idea and leads Simba to the base of Rafiki's tree. However, Rafiki emerges and urges them to return home to Pride Rock, where their mothers are looking for them. The cubs heed his advice and head back to Pride Rock, where Nala thinks to herself that, although she still wants to find a clubhouse someday, she is happy to be at home.
