Well, you want something. So do I! The one elusive thing I've desired for so long is him!
―Piper expresses her search for love to Timon and Pumbaa[src]

Piper is a female flying squirrel.

Piper struck a bargain with Timon and Pumbaa: if they helped her get into a relationship with a male flying squirrel, she would fetch them beetles from the tops of the trees. The plan eventually worked, and Piper entered into a romantic relationship with the male flying squirrel. However, she did not uphold her end of the bargain with Timon and Pumbaa, as she left them to fetch the beetles on their own.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Piper lived in Saskatchewan, Canada.[1]

Quest for love[]

Timon and Pumbaa were trying to get some beetles for dinner. However, the beetles lived at the tops of huge trees, which forced Timon to climb them. When he got to the top of a tree, a male flying squirrel passed by at a high speed and knocked him down. Timon was able to grab on to some branches, but another flying squirrel, this time a female who was far bigger, hit him, and they both fell.

SC Timon Pumbaa & Piper7

Piper meets Timon and Pumbaa.

After Timon and the flying squirrel fell, Timon and Pumbaa decided that they would need her help to get the beetles on the trees. In exchange, she wanted them to get her a date with the male flying squirrel who had knocked Timon from the tree. They tried all they could to get him to come down, but he would not stop flying.

Timon had an idea to put up a sign that advertised fresh nuts. However, instead of reading it, the male flying squirrel hit the sign, fell down, and got trapped in a cage. Timon calmed the male flying squirrel by telling him that he had won a free dinner. Just then, Piper appeared. The male flying squirrel instantly fell in love with her, and the two decided to fly off together. They then left Timon and Pumbaa without any beetles.[1]

Pumbaa's memory loss[]

After Pumbaa got struck by lightning and lost his memories, Timon brought in Piper as a reminder of his past.[2]

Physical appearance[]

Piper is a large and heavyset flying squirrel. She has purple fur, with a pale face and underbelly. She has patches of dark fur on her forehead and paws. She also has bright pink lips, a red nose, and blue eyes. She wears a pink ribbon around her neck.[1]

Personality and traits[]

SC Piper & squirrel10

Piper fell deeply in love with a male flying squirrel.

Piper is friendly, sociable, and somewhat sarcastic. Initially, she was on a quest for love, as she had a romantic interest in a male flying squirrel. When she met Timon and Pumbaa, she was unwilling to fetch them beetles unless they helped unite her with her crush. She was incredibly persistent and tenacious in her romantic pursuits and was not put off by the male flying squirrel's declaration that he would give up his freedom for her. Even in the face of Timon's criticisms, she was obstinate and defensive of her relationship. Ultimately, Piper proved to be dishonest and disingenuous, as she did not uphold her end of the bargain with Timon and Pumbaa.[1]
