Biography

The Lion Guard

"Ghost of the Mountain"

Ghost? The name's Chuluun. You must be friends of the red pandas.
―Chuluun[src]

A pack of red pandas approaches Bunga, hailing him as "Sonnesen Khun." The Lion Guard approaches questioningly, and a red panda named Dughi explains that a Chosen One was destined to fall from the sky and defeat the "Ghost of the Mountain."

The Lion Guard corners Chuluun where she is visible

Just then, the pack's leader Domog approaches and explains that their pack has been haunted by an invisible force that has driven them from their homes ("Ghost of the Mountain"). Kion agrees to help the red pandas defeat the ghost in order to keep the Circle of Life in balance.

The team journeys up the mountain, where they are set upon by an invisible foe. The team struggles to catch the "ghost" until it leaps onto a rock, allowing Anga to see that it is a catlike creature. Ono identifies the "ghost" as a snow leopard, and the Lion Guard tracks its footprints up the slope.

Eventually, through teamwork, the Lion Guard corners the snow leopard against a rock. Kion warns Chuluun to leave the red pandas alone, but she asserts that she follows her own rules. However, before she can escape, Bunga tackles her, covering her in his orange paint. Chuluun fights him off and escapes.

Bunga defeats Chuluun

No sooner has she disappeared when the team overhears fearful cries. Anga spots Chuluun, marked by orange paint, attacking the pack. The Lion Guard races to the rescue, only for Chuluun to evade them again. Domog questions if they had found the Ghost of the Mountain, and the team explains that Chuluun is behind the ghostly attacks. They then implore the red pandas to join them in defeating Chuluun.

Together, the Lion Guard and the red pandas follow Chuluun and corner her at the edge of a cliff. However, Chuluun rolls around in the snow to mask herself once more. Bunga orders the red pandas to keep Chuluun surrounded, then releases gas in her face. A shocked Chuluun loses her footing and plummets off the cliff.

After Chuluun's fall, Makucha recruits her to follow the Lion Guard to the Tree of Life with him.

"Dragon Island"

After the Lion Guard leaves Dragon Island to continue their search for the Tree of Life, Chuluun appears accompanying Makucha when they approach Ora to join them in their crusade to enact revenge on Kion and his friends.

"The River of Patience"

Chuluun and her allies, Makucha and Ora, arrive at the mountain pass. Though Ora cannot pick up the Lion Guard's scent, Chuluun comments that Bunga's odor is unmistakable. Makucha attempts to take charge, but Chuluun asserts that she does not take orders from anyone. Unbeknownst to the trio, Ullu the owl overhears their plans to invade the Tree of Life and so leaves to warn the Night Pride.

Chuluun leads a night raid on the Tree of Life

The trio attempt to cross through the pass, but are stopped by the Night Pride. The three are easily defeated, as they do not work well together. Shortly after the fight, the Lion Guard arrives, only to find that the Night Pride has already defeated Chuluun and her allies. Baliyo mentions Makucha by name, and Kion apologetically admits that Makucha and his allies followed the Lion Guard to the Tree of Life. This infuriates Rani.

The Lion Guard and the Night Pride return to the Tree of Life, where Rani accuses Kion of having let in an army of predators. Kion apologizes and offers his services in defeating Makucha's army, but Janna advises Kion to heal before he helps the Night Pride.

Bunga defeats Chuluun and Makucha with his stink

That night, Chuluun leads the trio in another attack, but the Night Pride fends them off. Ora then resolves to take over and attack the pride head-on by the light of day. The plan works initially, with the trio invading the Tree of Life and attacking the Night Pride. Chuluun manages to hide in trees in order to escape Surak, but he promptly defeats her once she reveals herself. Despite this, Chuluun and her allies gain an advantage over the Night Pride until Kion arrives to help.

While Ora runs in fear of Kion's Roar of the Elders, Chuluun and Makucha attempt to climb the cliff to reach the Tree of Life, but Kion uses the cliff trail to cut them off. With Rani's help, he defeats Chuluun and Makucha, who run straight into the rest of the Lion Guard. Bunga then uses his stink to send them fleeing from the Tree of Life.

After their defeat, the three convene outside the mountain pass, where Mama Binturong introduces herself as their new leader.

"Little Old Ginterbong"

Mama Binturong plots to invade the Tree of Life by pretending to seek sanctuary from Chuluun and her allies. The army enacts the plan, during which Chuluun, Makucha, and Ora chase Mama Binturong through the mountain pass, until the Night Pride arrives and fends them off. Believing Mama Binturong's story, they accept her for healing at the Tree of Life.

Chuluun, Makucha, and Ora resolve to kill Janna

After gathering intel about the Tree of Life, Mama Binturong informs her allies that the queen, Janna, lies exposed inside the tree. She orders them to kill Janna while she distracts the Night Pride. The plan goes into motion, with the Night Pride falling for Mama Binturong's cries for help. In the meantime, Chuluun, Makucha, and Ora sneak over the border.

Ullu the owl informs the Lion Guard of Mama Binturong's peril, and they resolve to help her. However, Ono realizes that Mama Binturong had called Chuluun by name in her cries for help, which indicates that they are working together. The Lion Guard heads to the Tree of Life instead and heads off Chuluun, Makucha, and Ora, with Fuli attacking and defeating Chuluun.

"Long Live the Queen"

Chuluun and her allies attack a tiger named Varya and her cubs. While Makucha distracts Varya, Chuluun chases the cubs into the mountain pass. However, she quickly retreats once the Lion Guard and the Night Pride arrive.

"The Lake of Reflection"

Chuluun and her allies launch an attack on the Tree of Life. The Night Pride challenges them, though Baliyo's yawning exposes how exhausted they are from a night of patrolling. The Lion Guard arrives in time to help, but Kion and Rani's dual leadership results in confusion, allowing Chuluun to evade Nirmala. However, the two groups eventually chase the army off.

Chuluun evades Nirmala's attack

However, Mama Binturong lingers and spies on the Lion Guard and the Night Pride, learning that they will take turns patrolling the border. She then schemes with her allies to attack in-between the two group's shifts at sunset.

At sunset, the army attacks. Ullu warns the Lion Guard that Chuluun and her allies are launching another attack. The Night Pride arrives, and Kion leads the two teams in their attack. The teams succeed, and the army flees back into the mountain pass.

"Triumph of the Roar"

Chuluun gains new allies

Chuluun and her allies sneak into the Tree of Life due to Ullu falling asleep and begin to chase a group of animals. The Night Pride arrives, only for the Lion Guard to take over the shift and defeat the army.

After the army's defeat, they reconvene at the mountain pass, where Mama Binturong brings in new allies, including Fahari, Jiona, two komodo dragons, and Smun and his prickle.

Kion defeats Chuluun with the Roar of the Elders

Together, the combined army invades the Tree of Life. Ullu attempts to warn the Night Pride, but Mama Binturong captures her and tasks Smun and his prickle with keeping her incapacitated. Despite this, Ullu escapes and warns the Night Pride about the army's attack, and they rush to the Tree of Life, only to be shut in by a giant rock pushed by Ora and his minions. With the Night Pride out of commission, the army attacks the animals at the Tree of Life.

The Lion Guard arrives, having been warned by Ullu, and resolves to free the Night Pride from the army's trap. Shortly afterward, Kion, Bunga, and Rani arrive, and Kion uses the Roar of the Elders to defeat the villains. He then strikes the rock at the Tree of Life's entrance with lightning, destroying it and freeing the Night Pride. Finally, Kion sweeps Chuluun and her allies into a tornado, which sends them far away from the Tree of Life.

Personality and traits

Chuluun is haughty and disrespectful, harboring amiability towards neither neighbors nor newcomers, even if they are stronger than she. She takes great pride in her natural camouflage, and is willing to use it to any advantage. She also has little regard for the Circle of Life.
