You see, without my tooth, I'm just a trifling, purposeless, inessential, frivolous, superfluous beast!
―The beast[src]

The beast is a male monster.

When the native chief stole the beast's gold tooth, the beast implored Timon and Pumbaa to retrieve it for him. After several failed attempts, the two succeeded in their endeavor and returned the tooth to the beast. With his tooth restored, the beast took out his wrath on the natives.

Biography[]

Early life[]

The beast lived in a bottomless pit in Bora Bora. His prized gold tooth was stolen by the native chief, which left him distressed and sorrowful.[1]

Alliance with Timon and Pumbaa[]

Timon and Pumbaa were pushed down a slide by the natives into a "bottomless pit," where the two fell for weeks on end before finally hitting the ground. At the bottom of the chute, Pumbaa commented that the bottomless pit was not so bottomless after all, which prompted Timon to proclaim that they would be rich for finding the first bottomless pit with a bottom.

As the two set out across the cave, they were confronted and eaten by the beast, who immediately spit them back out. Following this, the monster wailed about his missing gold tooth, which held the key to his magical powers. Pumbaa felt sorry for the monster, but Timon only found interest in the monster's great power.

Two hours, two days, and two weeks later, the beast managed to shove Timon and Pumbaa out of the bottomless pit, where they promised to help him retrieve his gold tooth from the native chief. The two proceeded to launch many different attempts to steal the tooth from the native chief, all of which ended in failure.

The beast, with his gold tooth retrieved, bursts out of the bottomless pit.

As a last resort, Timon and Pumbaa faked a parade and convinced the natives to join in on the festivities. As the four were distracted, Timon switched out the leader's staff with a harmonica and commanded the natives to turn about face and march in the opposite direction. It was not long, however, before the natives realized that Timon and Pumbaa had stolen their tooth, after which they pursued the duo to the edge of the bottomless pit.

Although they managed to catch Pumbaa by the legs, the tooth flew out of the warthog's mouth and fell into the bottomless pit. Moments later, the beast burst out of the pit, his gold tooth in place, spewing fire at the natives. As the natives were roasted in the monster's rage, Timon and Pumbaa walked calmly away, happy about their victory over the chief. Pumbaa then showed Timon that he had one of the leader's teeth in his mouth.[1]

Physical appearance[]

The beast is a massive, portly, muscular creature. He has bright green skin with darker green spots on his hide. He has several distinctions, including small purple wings on his back, black ridges down his spine, and a spiked tail. His eyes are black with red sclerae.[1]

Personality and traits[]

The beast is a menacing and powerful creature. His gold tooth holds the key to his magical powers, giving him great combat prowess. His most notable ability is his fire breath, as shown when he chased the natives. Despite his violent nature, the beast is willing to bargain with those who can offer him aid, such as Timon and Pumbaa. After he wailed to the duo about his missing gold tooth, they agreed to help retrieve it from the natives, and he in turn helped them escape the pit.[1]
