Hey, cheer up, kid. It's not like you're lost and cold and alone and afraid you may never see your parents again.
Timon to the baby panda[src]

The baby panda is a male panda.

When the baby panda got separated from his parents, he ran into Timon and Pumbaa. After realizing that the infant was lost and alone, the duo decided to help him find his family. Together, the three traveled across China until they returned to where their journey had originally begun. There, the baby panda's parents found him and had a delighted reunion with him.

Biography[]

Early life[]

The baby panda was born to an unnamed male panda and an unnamed female panda. He lived in China.[1]

Timon and Pumbaa arrived in China and ate some Chinese bugs. Timon took out a "fortune cockroach," and he and Pumbaa read its tag: "You will soon bear a great reward." No sooner had they read this when they heard someone crying and followed the noise to where a baby panda was sitting on his own. The infant promptly used Timon as a tissue to blow his nose.

Pumbaa felt sorry for the baby panda and wanted to cheer him up. Timon told several "panda cheering-up" jokes in an effort to improve the infant's mood, but neither the baby panda nor Pumbaa was amused. Timon then assured the baby panda that at least he was not lost, cold, alone, and afraid that he might never see his parents again. This made the infant burst into tears, and the duo finally realized that he was crying because he had lost his parents. Timon reasoned that if they helped the baby panda find his parents, they would receive a great reward, as their fortune had implied as much.

Timon, Pumbaa, and the baby panda embarked on a journey to find the infant's parents. The three soon ran into a cliff, which was spanned by a rope bridge. The baby panda was too afraid of heights to cross the divide, and Pumbaa warned Timon that the bridge did not look very safe. Timon disagreed and started to cross the bridge, only for all the planks to break and fall so that only the ropes were left. With the baby panda on Pumbaa's head and Timon on the baby panda's tummy, Pumbaa crossed the ropes. However, as he was crossing, the ropes ripped apart, and the three fell, during which they ran into a Chinese man raking, then the Chinese Pavilion, then the Great Wall of China.

Timon, Pumbaa, and the baby panda tried to find a way out of the Great Wall of China. Timon plotted to escape by digging under the wall, so he proceeded to dig a hole in the ground. After he finished, he asked the baby panda if he was afraid of anything that could possibly be in the hole, and the baby panda shook his head no, no matter which obstacle Timon mentioned. Satisfied, Timon expressed that he was ready to get in, but Pumbaa pointed out that the hole was too small for him to fit into. Timon suggested that they put the baby panda in the hole first, but the hole was too small for the infant to fit into as well. Pumbaa then jumped from the top of the wall, and the three managed to squeeze into the hole. They immediately got thrown out of the ground and landed in the spot where their journey had originally begun.

Timon found his and Pumbaa's suitcase and told Pumbaa that they were back where they had started. Fearful that he would never find his parents, the baby panda began to cry. Timon ranted about how careless and irresponsible the baby panda's parents had been to leave their child behind. Little did he realize, he was standing under the baby panda's father, who roared at him angrily.

The baby panda was happy to see his father. Timon asked Pumbaa how much he thought their reward was going to be, and the warthog replied that they had already gotten it, as virtue was its own reward. Happy to see that the baby panda had found his parents, Timon and Pumbaa left the family alone.[1]
