Early life[]
Babu lived in the Pride Lands. They were a member of Simba's pride.[1]
Encounter with Kopa[]
Babu was spending time with Boga, Leo, Mega, Ngawa, and Sabini when Kopa arrived. He asked Leo about his family tree, questioning whether it had any leaves or fruit on it. After the cub ran off to find his father, Babu giggled and teasingly echoed Kopa's question.[1]
Personality and traits[]
Babu is easily amused, as they readily made fun of Kopa for his misinterpretation of family trees.[1]

- Babu's name means "grandfather" in Swahili.[2]
- Though Babu is pictured, it is unknown whether they are the cub behind the tree, the cub laughing on their back, or the lioness resting in the grass. All other members (save Boga and Sabini) are accounted for in the narrative.[1]
