Vulture Shock

When Kopa asks Leo about his family tree, he asks whether it has any leaves or fruit on it. After the cub runs off to find his father, Babu giggles and teasingly echoes Kopa's question.

  • Babu's name means "grandfather" in Swahili.[1]
  • Though Babu is pictured, it is unknown whether s/he is the cub behind the tree, the cub laughing on their back, or the lioness resting in the grass. All other members (save Boga and Sabini) are accounted for in the narrative.[2]
  • Another character named Babu appears in In the Fur of Another.
