Aardvarks are a species of animal native to the Pride Lands. They are burrowing animals who feed on fruits and grubs, and are preyed upon by hyenas.
Physical characteristics
The aardvark is a four-legged species of moderate size. It generally sports long ears, an elongated snout, a furless tail, and sharp digging claws. Most aardvarks have brown pelts, with lighter fur along their chests and muzzles, and darker fur on their legs.

Muhanga waits in line to receive advice from Bunga, who has proclaimed himself to be a sage.
"Can't Wait to be Queen"
Simba presides over Muhangus and Muhanga's wedding.
"The Kupatana Celebration"
On the day of the Kupatana celebration, the jackals disrupt the aardvark dens. Muhangus demands an explanation, and Beshte assures him that the situation will be handled. Trivia
- In the January 1990 version of The Lion King, an aardvark named Daabi served as a close friend of Simba's. She and her cousin aardvarks participated in the final battle, siding with Simba over Scar.[1]
- During early production of The Lion King, aardvarks participated in the scrapped musical number "To Be King".[2]
