Okay, I don't know if anyone posted this before, and I actually may have, but I'm going to say this anyway. (Sorry if I did, I'm very forgetful.)
So remember that scene in Hakuna Matata from the animated film, when Pumbaa was singing? And then Timon interrupted him. The dialogue went like this:
Pumbaa: And every time I took a-
Timon: Pumbaa, there are kids here!
Simba: ???
But Timon said kidS, and not KID, even though Simba was the only kid there. And that's because Timon broke the fourth wall and was talking about the kids who were WATCHING the movie, the audience.
But in the 2019 live-action remake, the dialogue is different:
Pumbaa: And every time I took a sh....... aren't you going to stop me?
Timon: No, you disgust me!
Timon doesn't actually stop Pumbaa from saying whatever he was about to say because he doesn't need to. The kids who had watched the 1994 Lion King are all grown up and are now adults.
