I don’t know. I’d like to see Kopa or Chaka or even Tanabi.
@TonightWeStrike9748 @Second Indominus you like believing that Scar’s parents would have named him trash?
@Kilmarnock228 You may be right. Like they even know what trash is.
Taka also means want!
@Kilmarnock228 Taka doesn't mean trash. It actually derives from the word "Kutaka" meaning want/wanted. Trash is only the second definition of Taka and that's while it stands on its own and not a derivation of another world. An opposite way of how Kion on its own derives from Kiongozi, meaning leader.
@The Demon of Life Well so far as I’m aware, the one work to assign Scar that name just says Taka, without anything to indicate that it was short for anything. I’m not sure “want” is much better of a name either: it implies a lack of something or an unsatisfied desire. “Wanted” is the only possible meaning that doesn’t really have a negative connotation, except that Scar probably felt mocked by his own name considering how his parents seemed to favor Mufasa.
I meant that the word "Taka" is derives from Kutaka. The remake and the books likely did not use the full word. That's what I meant to say.
"Want" seems better than trash since wanting or desiring something isn't inherently bad.
I’m inclined to think that the authors meant for Taka’s name to have a negative connotation. Other villains in 6NA, like Choyo, have names that mean negative traits. Even if the main definition they were going for was “want,” I guarantee that they meant it to be an ambitious or greedy want, not something noble.
By Choyo do you mean the vulture or the Selfish Lion.
What do you think?
